HAIR TRANSPLANT SURGERY

Hair transplant surgery is a cosmetic procedure in which hair follicles are moved from one area of the body, typically the back or sides of the head, to a bald or balding area.

The procedure is commonly used to treat male pattern baldness, but it can also be used to restore hair in women and to fill in areas of the scalp where hair is thinning.

HAIR TRANSPLANT TECHNIQUES

There are two main types of hair transplant surgery: follicular unit transplantation (FUT) and follicular unit extraction (FUE).

In FUT, a strip of scalp containing hair follicles is removed from the back of the head and divided into individual grafts, which are then transplanted into the balding area.

In FUE, individual hair follicles are extracted from the donor area using a small, circular punch and then transplanted into the balding area.

DHI is a modified version of FUE that uses a special pencil-like tool to simultaneously extract and implant hair follicles.

Patients considering hair transplant should consult with an experienced and qualified surgeon to determine the most suitable technique for their individual needs and preferences.

FUT

FUT is a hair transplant technique that involves the removal of a strip of hair-bearing skin from the back of the scalp, which is then dissected into individual follicular units under a microscope. The follicular units are then transplanted into the balding or thinning areas of the scalp.

The FUT technique is usually performed under local anesthesia and requires the use of a scalpel to remove the strip of skin. Once the strip of skin is removed, the wound is closed using sutures or staples. The strip is then divided into individual follicular units using a microscope. The hair follicles are placed in tiny incisions made in the balding or thinning areas of the scalp, which are created by the surgeon using a small needle or blade.

After the procedure, patients are advised to avoid strenuous activity for a few days and to keep the scalp clean and dry. The sutures or staples are usually removed after 10-14 days.

FUT can achieve excellent results in terms of hair regrowth and natural-looking results. However, it does leave a linear scar on the back of the scalp, which may be visible if the patient's hair is cut very short.

FUE

FUE is a hair transplant technique that involves the extraction of individual hair follicles from the donor area of the scalp, which are then transplanted into the balding or thinning areas of the scalp.

The FUE technique is usually performed under local anesthesia and the surgeon uses a small round scalpel.

The hair follicles are placed in tiny incisions made in the balding or thinning areas of the scalp, which are created by the surgeon using a small needle or blade.

FUE has several advantages over the FUT technique. Firstly, it does not leave a linear scar on the back of the scalp, which makes it a preferred option for patients with short hair. Secondly, it is a less invasive procedure, with a shorter recovery time and less post-operative discomfort.

However, FUE may not be suitable for all patients, particularly those with a large area of balding or thinning hair, as it may not be possible to extract enough hair follicles to achieve a satisfactory result.

DHI

DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) is a hair transplant technique that involves the extraction of individual hair follicles from the donor area of the scalp, which are then transplanted into the balding or thinning areas of the scalp.

DHI is similar to FUE, but in DHI the hair follicles are implanted one by one directly into the recipient area using a specialized pen-like tool. It is used to create a small incision in the scalp, and the hair follicle is then implanted directly into this incision. This tool allows for greater precision and control over the placement of the hair follicles, which can result in a more natural-looking hairline and overall result.

Using DHI technology, hair follicles can be installed more densely than using FUE.

The DHI technique is usually performed under local anesthesia and the procedure can take several hours, depending on the size of the recipient area and the number of hair follicles to be implanted.

Like FUE, DHI is a minimally invasive procedure with a short recovery time and minimal scarring. Patients can expect to see noticeable hair regrowth within a few months of the procedure, with full results visible after around 12-18 months.

In general, DHI is a very effective method of hair transplantation, but it may not be suitable for patients with very sparse hair or large bald areas because there are not enough follicles to transplant.

STEM CELLS TREATMENT

Stem cell treatment for hair transplant involves using stem cells to promote hair growth and regenerate hair follicles. Stem cells are special cells that have the ability to develop into different types of cells in the body.

Hair follicle stem cell clusters, which are responsible for the continuous growth of hair, can be damaged or die out completely. If such stem cells are lost in several follicles, this can lead to thinning or complete baldness of the hair.

The use of stem cells is simple: stem cells are taken from the patient and implanted into the hair follicles so that new hair can grow from them.

The procedure takes about an hour and there is minimal or no scarring, as instead of removing the entire hair follicle only a small part of it that can produce new hair is taken.

After the procedure you can return home or work and resume with your everyday activities with almost no discomfort or visible signs of stem cells therapy.

Initial improvements from the treatment can be seen after two weeks, but it may take up to a month to see significant effects.

While improvements may be noticeable following just one session, it is advised to undergo additional sessions of stem cell injections in the affected areas of hair loss, typically every one or two months. The frequency and number of sessions may vary based on the type and progression of hair loss.
